Our Commitment

Roots of Truth Initiative does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, marital status, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, or local law. This commitment applies to:

• The identification work we perform on behalf of unidentified persons and their families
• Our partnerships with law enforcement agencies and medical examiners
• Our hiring, volunteer engagement, and board participation
• Our interactions with donors, partners, and the public

Case Work

Every unidentified person deserves a name, and every family deserves closure, regardless of race, background, immigration status, or circumstance. Roots of Truth Initiative evaluates and accepts cases based solely on eligibility criteria related to case type and investigative merit — never on the basis of a decedent's or family's protected characteristics.
